We moved from CA to Minneapolis to start a new job in Marketing at Target in Minneapolis in Oct 2019. Living in a new city during a global pandemic and during a social justice movement makes it impossible to try new things and meet new people. And, we're black, in Minneapolis - which is particularly difficult right now. So, we're planning on WFH permanently and moving back home to CA!
Minneapolis is becoming a unsafe dump, rather get out of the city

I lived in a studio in Manhattan when COVID hit. I went to Minnesota to stay with my parents for what I thought would be “a few weeks”, and here I am, 6 months later, living in my parents’ basement (that’s kind of hot, right?). Ultimately, during my time staying in Minnesota, I drove to move out of my NYC apartment, and now I’m deciding if I should try out LA, since it’s still a big city but is an easier environment to social distance.
Inept state and local government. I see a new business was going under everyday. Violence is in the rise, and those who talk about chance have been the ones in power decades . I encourage the reader(s) of this to look into the “weak mayor” system of MSP and look how hive minded those in power are.
More space for entertaining. Quieter neighborhood. Better area of schools for my two boys.

Just graduated college, and a city with great opportunities and drastically lower rent than the Bay Area (where I went to school) is the plan.
San Diego was absurdly expensive and salaries did not match housing costs, not even close. We had no choice but to move to the no-coast part of the country.
