I pay rent in Bellevue as I was expected to be in the office for "facetime" with leadership. Now I have been sitting alone in 750 sq feet for 4 months with no return to office in site. I have no family or friends here, only work. The communist leadership of western Washington and the state of Washington is out of control and I fear they will lock down the state and I will not be allowed to leave as we get closer to the election.
I'm moving to the Bay Area as I accepted a job offer for a biotechnology company based in South San Francisco. My current rent in Bellevue, WA is higher than some areas outside of San Francisco, so I might be saving some money if I move. Plus, my new employer in the Bay Area is offering 5k sign-on bonus and 15k over the first 3 months to help with relocation. That's good enough to sway candidates that are hesitant to move to the Bay Area due to the high rent prices. I have a 1 year agreement with them, so if it doesn't work out I will move out and head somewhere else.
Found a great deal on a shared living situation with friend in a single family house
Las Vegas has been decimated by job loss. While the weather and the traffic (or lack thereof) are attractive there are virtually no jobs when the entertainment & hospitality industries aren't firing on all cylinders. The Washington State area has many remote capable jobs and a multitude of industries to pick from.
