My company is located in AZ and we are growing fast. I need to be local as an Executive.
There is a biotech company there which is looking to evaluate their technology to be delivered by the respiratory system, on which I have been doing for a while. They offered me the position and I want to see if what I do is promising for the initial work there, can it potentially be applied to treat COVID-19.
My company is now permanently remote and I am ready to be in some nature.
In 2017 I landed a job in SF that led me to buying a home in East Bay to be as close to the city as possible, while far enough away that I could "escape" if need be. In November 2019 I was laid off, found a new job working from home, then the pandemic hit. I've seen about a 20% growth in equity since I bought the house, but I'm thinking the market won't necessarily continue to go up from here and if it does it won't last long. That possibility combined with the lack of things that traditionally would attract me to city life is making me run for the hills, literally. I'm heading north to find a place to rent until the housing market settles down.
Ability to work remotely makes it an easy decision: lower cost of living, more outdoor recreation, less big city problems.
Cheaper rent, ability to work remote and proximity to outdoor activities
My company could not raise money and all 35 employees were let go.
The rent is too damn high!
Why not?
