Graduation from college is pushing me back to the city to actually be a real adult with a big girl job.
Colorado has quickly become one of the more costly places to live, the real estate market is intense. Being able to work mostly from home (no commute), I want to move out into the foothills. More related to this story, if I didn't love what I do, I would leave Colorado.....quickly. I turn 45 this year. So I am not necessarily in your majority, but I hustle....and I love the Hustle.
My husband is Air Force, so we basically have no choice but to move. We currently live in a small city (~170k population) and am not looking forward to moving to DC with 4x the number of people. At least we'll only be there for a few years though. I am gonna miss the smaller town. No traffic and we get front-row parking everywhere we go!
Well if we CAN move we will. My husband and I have lived in the Bay Area 6 years and intended to buy a house here in about 3 years. Now with COVID our work places have both gone remote. If that continues and we get the okay to move out of state we want to buy a house in Fort Collins CO where my husband is from. We can get a house for 300k instead of 800k. Seems like a no brainer to me as long as we can keep our SF salaries.
