Taxes, cost of living, politics, better schools, better family friendly environment, and my ability to work from home gives me freedom. Entire family is moving on both my side and wife’s (8 different families total, with likely more to follow)
I'm moving to the Bay Area as I accepted a job offer for a biotechnology company based in South San Francisco. My current rent in Bellevue, WA is higher than some areas outside of San Francisco, so I might be saving some money if I move. Plus, my new employer in the Bay Area is offering 5k sign-on bonus and 15k over the first 3 months to help with relocation. That's good enough to sway candidates that are hesitant to move to the Bay Area due to the high rent prices. I have a 1 year agreement with them, so if it doesn't work out I will move out and head somewhere else.
